There are various events hosted at The Galleria in SF throughout the year. Many times there are guest speakers who are great to go and learn from. That day I went to see Christiane Lemieux of Dwell Studio. I had a photo taken of us together but will NEVER share that with anyone…it was a very bad bang day! So anyways, these meetups are a great way to keep up with our education and also a good time to network. The problem…I suck at networking. I can be a little shy in these types of situations and sit by myself eating lunch. Soooo enter Regan Baker, a young designer just as myself scouring the Kravet showroom for a place to sit. She asked if she could sit by me. Sure! We got to talking and I think really hit it off. She has TWINS the same age as Sydney so that made for some fun chat. I also realized that I really loved her way of thinking. Not competitive as I find some designers can be. She seemed really open to collaborating with other designers and the idea of helping one another where the other may fall short. That is exactly the way I think and it was so refreshing to find someone else with those qualities. We didn’t really keep in touch after that day other then I always read her {blog}. After some time, I noticed she she started following me on {HOUZZ} who I contribute Articles to from time to time. After looking through some of her work, there was one job I was especially drawn. I contacted her and the Editor of Houzz with the idea and the story was underway. It’s her Carmel Beach Bungalow design and it’s gorgeous! So well done, so livable and didn’t push the beach theme too much. I’ll share just a few images of the design here but to see more and read all bout the design details you can view it on Houzz {HERE}.
Thank you Regan for letting me feature your work. I look forward to anything we can work on together in the future!
